The Insight Behind Becoming EPIC

Jenna Laski is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, founder of EPIC Family Therapy, and creator of Becoming Emotionally Powerful Internally Connected (EPIC), a modern framework for strengthening emotional intelligence, emotional regulation, and relational connection.

For more than two decades, Jenna has worked with individuals, couples, children, teens, and families and began noticing a consistent pattern:

Most people were never taught how to understand what they feel, regulate themselves under stress, or repair connection when conflict occurs.

Instead, many people learn to suppress emotions, avoid vulnerability, disconnect from themselves, or fall into cycles of shame, blame, criticism, and emotional reactivity within their relationships.

That insight became the foundation for the Becoming EPIC practice.

Translating Emotional Intelligence Into Everyday Life

Jenna’s work integrates Interpersonal Neurobiology, Attachment Focused EMDR, Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Positive Psychology.

Through the EPIC framework, she translates modern neuroscience, emotional development, nervous system awareness, and relational psychology into practical emotional skills people can apply in everyday life.

Her approach helps clients strengthen:

  • emotional literacy
  • emotional regulation
  • self-awareness
  • communication
  • relational repair
  • and internal connection with the belief that emotional intelligence is not fixed, but something that can be strengthened through awareness, reflection, and practice.

Advanced Training & Clinical Experience

Jenna has studied with leading experts in emotional development, including Dr. Dan Siegel, and completed advanced training through the Institute for Contemporary Psychoanalysis and the Parnell Institute for Attachment Focused EMDR.

She has served as a clinical supervisor since 2012 and also provides professional workshops focused on emotional intelligence, executive functioning, emotional regulation, and conflict resolution.

A Personal Connection to the Work

Jenna’s connection to this work is also deeply personal.

She is a mother and part of a blended family and, like many families, continues to experience the everyday practice of navigating stress, communication, repair,

and connection in real life.

Her work is grounded not only in clinical training, but in the belief that emotional growth is an ongoing human practice rather than a destination.

“Hydrating the Heart”

Jenna often describes emotional regulation as “hydrating the heart.”

Just as we care for our physical well-being each day, emotional well-being also requires ongoing awareness,

reflection, regulation, and connection.

The EPIC framework offers a clear and compassionate way to strengthen that capacity and reconnect with the wisdom within.

Emotional Intelligence Changes Everything

Emotional intelligence shapes how we relate to ourselves and to the people we love. It influences how we navigate stress, communicate, repair after disconnection, and show up within our relationships.

It changes how we live, love, and lead.

And it begins within.

We are all Becoming EPIC.
